Rice is naturally gluten-free. It’s a beneficial carbohydrate and a great source of energy. Brown rice in particular is one of the world’s great wholegrain foods. A great source of fibre with a beautiful nutty taste.

There are dozens of different types of rice grains that provide different textures, tastes and nutritional value. It is considered a staple food for more than half of the world's population - particularly Eastern and Southern Asia. White rice is the most common type of rice consumed, however brown rice (wholegrain rice) is becoming increasingly popular in western countries due to the health benefits it provides. Rice is primarily composed of carbohydrates, small amounts of protein and virtually no fat with the specific levels varying depending on the type of grain.

Our Riviana Foods business is one of Australia’s most successful food importers, with a diverse portfolio of over 500 products across multiple food categories from pasta and noodles, to canned seafood and vegetables, to sweet and savoury biscuits, and condiments to antipasto favourites. Riviana manufactures, distributes and markets these household brand names across Australia with a focus on quality and nutrition. A focus on quality and nutrition across the portfolio means products like the new Riviana Pear Juice achieved a 5 star health rating.

Over 50 all natural, gluten-free products in our Roza's Gourmet range

Established in 1991 and now part of Riviana Foods, Roza's Gourmet offers a premium range of condiments, pestos, dips, soups, crackers and olives. Proudly Australian made and owned, the brand was built on the pillars of nutrition, community and environment. Nearly 30 years later, these principles remain integral to the brand. All Roza's Gourmet products are made from natural ingredients and cater for almost all dietary requirements, including gluten free, vegan, Low FODMAP, dairy free, soy free, nut free and egg free.

As a result of our ongoing commitment to research and development we have created new ways to make rice even better. For example our Low GI Long Grain Rice, called Doongara, is exclusively grown in Australia and combines everything you love about rice with the bonus of being a naturally low GI food to provide sustained energy release. Making a difference in the Solomon Islands and PNG

SunRice’s commitment to Make a Difference to our Consumers around the world extends beyond simply providing nutritious food. We have also invested significantly in developing and distributing vitamin enriched rice products designed to improve nutrition in our Papua New Guinean and Solomon Islands communities where health is a key issue.

SolRice has been working with the Solomon Islands Government to promote the vitamin enrichment of rice across the country. Enrichment of rice has been mandated in the Solomon Islands, taking effect from 1 August 2019. Utilising our knowledge and experience in PNG, SolRice has been able to work with the Solomon Islands Government to ensure rice products meet the nutritional needs of our customers and the benefits of vitamin enriched products are understood throughout the region.

Highly nutritious animal products made from rice by-products

The main by-products of rice production are rice hull, rice bran and broken rice. Through our CopRice business we use 98% of those by-products and turn them into new and valuable high quality products including nutritious stabilised rice bran, rice flour, quality stockfeed products and companion animal food, animal bedding and pet litter.

Maximising production from high performance dairy herds requires a broader focus than pasture alone. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive feed solution to meet a cow’s nutritional needs during every step of her production cycle for optimum health and productivity.

Throughout the course of a year, the nutritional requirements for a dairy cow change according to her metabolic state, stage of lactation, level of milk production, quality and availability of pasture. Understanding the relationship between these factors is critical to optimising milk solids production, and maintaining the health and wellbeing of the herd. Combining Australian cereal grains with research-tested nutrition, field-proven studies and industry leading quality assurance programs, our nutritionists deliver a tailored nutrition program to meet the needs of dairy herds across their lactation cycle.
